What To Expect

Training in performance can be a game changer for a person’s career. Actors are often told to train in LA, then work (and live) in Atlanta. Those who do live here are either lacking ongoing training and resources or have never had access to them in the first place. Vibrance offers the training worthy of your career and that the industry demands.

Teaching Approach

Lessons are practical with experiential and conceptual learning opportunities. I teach from the nervous system and the body. Voice, presence, and performance skills are developed by releasing the breath, reducing tension and unnecessary effort in the body, developing presence, building vocal expressiveness, and connecting to creative impulses in the body. Classes focus on the art of connecting deeply to text, the self, and others.

Fitzmaurice Voicework®

Fitzmaurice Voicework® is a deep and practical approach to voice training. It facilitates in the discovery and development of each person's unique voice—in healthy, clear, and creative ways; communicating intention and feeling without excess effort.

Fitzmaurice Voicework® seeks a harmony between the voluntary and involuntary aspects of voice and nervous system by combining adaptations of classical voice training techniques with modifications of yoga, shiatsu, bioenergetics, energy work, and other disciplines .

Located at the intersection of the material and the non-material, this method of training the breath and voice can also assist in creative, intellectual, and spiritual growth. Acting becomes riveting, believable, authentic.

Fitzmaurice Voicework® centres on four primary areas of focus:

  1. Destructuring to open the body to the spontaneous and free breath.

  2. Restructuring the speaking and singing voice to utilise a healthy economy of effort while speaking or singing using the "focus line."

  3. Presence to develop the capacity to be fluidly aware of internal and external experiences with healthy boundaries while focusing on what matters in the moment.

  4. Play to engage in the work of the moment with curiosity and your whole self.
